COMPETENCY EVALUATION

After satisfactory completion of the course, the medication aide will be eligible to take the competency evaluation.

Note: If a medication aide has not been employed as a medication aide within twenty- four months, he/she must satisfactorily complete the state approved Medication Aide course in both theory and practice prior to taking the competency evaluation.

After satisfactory completion of the competency evaluation, the Technical Institutions Branch of KCTCS will forward to the Division of Licensing and Regulation in the Cabinet for Health Services the students name, address and social security number.

Persons who are medication aides will be designated as such on the OBRA state nurse aide registry.

COMPETENCY EVALUATION COST

The Competency Evaluation cost is required on scheduled test date.
