Admission Requirements
Application for admission to the college.
Meet with a faculty advisor.
Submit official high school transcript indicating that the applicant has or will complete a high school course of study or a passing GED official score report
Submit official transcripts of postsecondary work completed at other institutions.
Qualifying results of ACT or COMPASS
Call the 270-901-1200 to schedule COMPASS if needed. Must be COMPASS tested prior to applying for financial aid.
Proof of active status on the Medicaid Nurse Aide Registry or successful competion of an equivalent nursing course; (to receive proof from the Kentucky Nurse Aide Registry, Call 1-888-530-1919 or visit KBN Online Validation ).
Proof of current CPR for Health Care Provider or Professional Rescuer CPR. Current Certification must be maintained throughout the program.
Pre-Admission Conference
A pre-admission conference with an assigned faculty advisor is required prior to an applicant's consideration by the Practical Nursing Admissions Committee. Preference may be given to:
- Candidates who demonstrate above average standing in high school or on the GED examination.
- Applicants with an ACT composite score of 20 or above or its equivalent practical nursing assessment; and
- Applicants who have completed 12 or more credit hours in the approved curriculum with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better from any regionally accredited college.
