Crystal Anderson and Robin Brown of Bowling Green Technical College (BGTC) were honored as members of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System's 2012 All-Academic Team during the 11th annual KCTCS Student Academic Achievement luncheon held recently at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Louisville.
Students from each of the 16 KCTCS colleges were chosen for the All-Academic Team based on a rigorous selection process that focuses on Crystal Anderson of Bowling Green (left),and Robin Brown of Glasgow (right), were honored as the Bowling Green TechnicalCollege members of the KentuckyCommunity and Technical CollegeSystem's 2012 All-Academic Team.The two are shown here with Dr. Nathan Hodges, BGTC President and CEO (center).academic performance and campus involvement. Each member of the All-Academic Team received a $500 gift from their college, as well as scholarship opportunities to continue their education from 28 Kentucky public and private universities. Together, the scholarships are valued at more than $500,000. Students were honored during ceremonies held Wednesday, May 16.
The 2012 KCTCS All-Academic Team Scholars are part of a national program sponsored by national honor society Phi Theta Kappa, USA Today and the American Association of Community Colleges.
Crystal Andersen of Bowling Green is pursuing an Associate in Science Degree from Bowling Green Technical College. She currently has a 4.0 GPA and is on the President’s Honor List at the College. Ms. Andersen is very involved in volunteer work at her home and church and serves as a volunteer math tutor at the College’s Learning Center . Her goal after graduation from Bowling Green Technical College is to transfer her credits to Western Kentucky University and pursue a career in teaching mathematics
Robin Brown of Glasgow is pursuing a Associate in Science Degree from Bowling Green Technical College. She currently has a 4.0 GPA and is on the President’s Honor List at the College. Ms. Brown is a volunteer at the Epilepsy Foundation of Kentuckiana and her goal is to complete her associate degree in Medical Information Technology and enter a career in medical billing and coding.
