Bowling Green Technical College Graduates Ten Polysomnographic Technologists

Bowling Green, KY. (December 8, 2011) The ten polysomnographic technologists graduates of the 2011 class marks the second cohort to complete the program at Bowling Green Technical College (BGTC).

Polysomnography is the continuous measurement and recording of physiological activity during sleep. Polysomnographic technologists (PSGTs) are healthcare practitioners who perform a vital role in the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders. Some polysomnographic technologists (PSGTs) have broadened their scopes to include management and marketing of sleep centers, product support and sales, public and patient education regarding sleep hygiene and relaxation techniques.

“An increased awareness of sleep disorders and their negative effects has resulted in an increased demand for credentialed Polysomnographic Technologists” says BGTC polysomnography instructor Ken McKenney. “These ten graduates are now eligible to sit for the Registered Polysomnographic Technologist board exam.”
