Students must take the Donor Introduction Form with them. This form will be given to you by program faculty. At appointment time make sure that your bladder is full because you cannot leave until you urinate. Allow 1-3 hours for the screening. The hours are 8:00 - 5:00 M-F. The cost of the drug screen is $40.00. The drug groups that should be tested in this 9 panel include:

Health Physical

Before the beginning day of the first sonography course, each student must have a health physical performed by a physician or their representative. The physical form to be used will be given to you. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that the form is filled out completely. It is also important that all of the lab work be performed and the results submitted. A copy of your immunization record must be included with the physical. You do not have to have a Hepatitis B vaccination. However, if you choose to not have the vaccination, you will be required to sign a form indicating that at the time you choose not to take the Hepatitis B vaccination.

Background Check

Bowling Green Technical College Sonography Program performs background checks on incoming students to insure the safety of the patients treated by students, in the program, while the students are conducting the clinical portion of their education. The checks are conducted by PreCheck, Inc. for Bowling Green Technical College. The cost of the background check is $48.50 and is absorbed by the student. Instructions for completing the background check will be given to you. The Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) requires background checks for health science students working in hospitals.
