Admissions: Selection of students for the program will be made by the president of the college or the president’s designee after considering the recommendation of the Admission Committee. Membership of this committee shall be as follows:
DMS Program Faculty
Admission Officer and/or Counselor; and
General Education Faculty (teaching required prerequisites), and or Other Faculty member
Each applicant must submit the following credentials by May 15 in order to be considered by the committee for fall semester.
1. Application for admission to the college.
2. Official high school transcript indicating that the applicant has completed an approved 4-year high school curriculum or the GED Certificate.
3. Official transcripts of all postsecondary education or training.
4. American College Test (ACT) or COMPASS score reports.
5. Documentation denoting completion of NAA 100 with a grade of "C" or better, a Radiography program, or a Registered Nursing program effective Spring 2008.
6. Documentation denoting completion of each Diagnostic Medical Sonography prerequisite course with a grade of “C” or better.
7. Complete the student orientation available at http://www.bowlinggreen.kctcs.edu/studentoar.php. Upon completion of the orientation complete the general information sheet (located at the end of the orientation process) and submit with application.
The final selection for admission is determined by application date.
Preference may be given to:
1. applicants with an ACT composite score of 19 or above, or COMPASS scores in Algebra of 41or above, Reading 81 or above, and Writing of 75 or above.
2. applicants who have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better (4.0 scale) in 10 hours of college credit applicable to the Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program.
3. applicants who are American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) board applicable and graduates of a two year Joint Review Committee on Education of Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) accredited Radiography Program, registered radiographer, or registered nurse.
