Washington, DC – Today, West Kentucky Community and Technical College (WKCTC) was recognized in an award ceremony in Washington, DC, as one of the top ten community colleges nationally in the bi-annual Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence.
Versailles, Ky. – During its quarterly meeting today, the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) Board of Regents received an update on the work being done to develop career pathways for high school students entering KCTCS colleges. KCTCS and the Office of Career and Technical Education (CTE) have created a curriculum alignment project intended to develop common pathways and dual credit opportunities that can be implemented statewide; these pathways will serve as models for course alignment between secondary and postsecondary partners.

Versailles, Ky. – The Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) is part of a statewide group sponsoring a Kentucky Society for Human Resource Management (KYSHRM) survey called Bridging the Talent Gap. The survey will help identify skill shortages in the state. The data gleaned from this survey will assist KCTCS and other education providers to better understand workforce and education needs.
Versailles, Ky. – Dr. Larry Ferguson has been named vice president of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS). He will oversee advancement, grants and contracts and alumni affairs. He also will serve as the executive director of the KCTCS Foundation.
