FAQ's - Distance Learning

  • What support services are available for online courses?

BGTC has a variety of academic support services available to students which are posted on the BGTC web site, Blackboard web site, and through the KCTCS web network.

Online students receive information via e-mail on e-Learning services. E-Learning provides an online orientation, student tutorials, and information on advising, admission/registration, assessment and placement, bookstore, disability services, homework resources, library services, test proctoring, tutoring services, and a 24/7 help desk. The web address for e-Learning is http://www.kctcs.edu/distancelearning/. This link may be accessed from the BGTC Distance Learning web site and the KCTCS web site.

At the beginning of each semester, students enrolled in online courses receive an e-mail welcoming them to e-Learning. Login instructions are provided as well as information on how to enter the e-Learning class, how to access the Kentucky Virtual Library (KYVL), and where to locate contact information on the KYVC. Students also have access to the full services of the KYVL at www.kyvl.org.
